004 ▲ Video/Action for Route 34

[This video is a very short one, and Luke also looks annoyed in this one.

The reason is pretty apparent, because this is basically what's on your screen.]

WHY DO THE SHEEP PRODUCE STATIC?!

[And then he turns it off to go rant and attempt to de-floof his hair.]

[...brb... laughing at you. Sorry, not sorry.]

Seems like it's electric, huh!

Abilities.

[That's it, that's the explanation.

...Okay, maybe not.]

Unluckily for you, all Mareeps come with Static. I'd suggest investing in rubber gloves, if you wish to pet them.

[Thank goodness. He was almost getting Vermillion flashbacks there.]

Oh, I've no doubt the sheep enjoyed it while it lasted. But such abilities are always active, and Static happens to be common for the softest-looking Electric-types.

[Yeah, sorry, dude, he's laughing.]

Yeah, they do that! You'll wanna get rubber gloves for when you handle your Mareep, there's no way for them to really stop doing that.
manfulness: (FOR JAPAN!)

[He's still sniggering a little, but he tries to hold it back.]

You looked pretty rad there for a little, y'know.

You can also try holding plastic or a stone whenever you touch them. A girl told me it might help, long ago.

[He's never actually tried it, but it's not as if it can hurt.]

I'm glad to hear it. Have they been behaving, or do they need a scolding from their parents?

Because wool conducts electricity.

[A pause.]

Plus they're an electric-type Pokemon.

[He looks pretty amused, judging from his grin.]

Because they're an electric type! And maybe poking fun at "do robots dream of electric sheep", personally.

Do you mean why do the animals here do what they do, or if there's some joke to why it can do that?

Static electricity is more natural. I've managed to shock my other Pokemon who aren't electric type just from the dryness in the air.

Ooh, an electric sheep! That's really cute! There are lots of different special electric types. Mine's a mouse!

Have you used your Pokedex to try and learn more about it? It's pretty useful and can give you warnings when it comes to certain breeds.

It's mostly just a problem during winter. Less humidity in the air or something.
