004 ▲ Video/Action for Route 34

[This video is a very short one, and Luke also looks annoyed in this one.

The reason is pretty apparent, because this is basically what's on your screen.]

WHY DO THE SHEEP PRODUCE STATIC?!

[And then he turns it off to go rant and attempt to de-floof his hair.]

[Thank goodness. He was almost getting Vermillion flashbacks there.]

Oh, I've no doubt the sheep enjoyed it while it lasted. But such abilities are always active, and Static happens to be common for the softest-looking Electric-types.

You can also try holding plastic or a stone whenever you touch them. A girl told me it might help, long ago.

[He's never actually tried it, but it's not as if it can hurt.]

I'm glad to hear it. Have they been behaving, or do they need a scolding from their parents?

She'll become a future expert in double battles, then? It's not a very common style, but it has its charm. I do hope her partners are always willing and full of enthusiasm.

[It's more of a belief than a hope, really.]

As long as both trainers agree on the battle format, it should be fine. Though it might be more difficult to request for official matches against Gym leaders, or the Elite Four.

It usually takes at least a month or two to reach the levels necessary to defeat the weakest Gym leaders. Perhaps they were worried for your Pokémon's health.

I've no doubt they greatly enjoy the exercise. What level have they reached? Against Falkner, I'd suggest the early thirties, unless you intend to catch half a dozen sheep.

...That would explain the Gym's reluctance. Even a full team of Electric-types would stand little chance of winning under these conditions. Have you had the opportuniy to buy her a TM or two?

It's a small disk that can teach certain Pokémon a new attack. Rosie, if you'd please.

[After fifteen seconds or so, his Clefable arrives with his reusable Return TM, which he promptly shows Luke.]

Not all TMs are compatible with all Pokémon, but they can be used to give them greater type coverage. For example, Rosie here can use every type except for Poison, Ghost, Dark and Dragon.

[Heck yes she is. The pinkest of them all.]

You merely have to break the disk over a Pokémon's head, and it'll learn the attack. TMs are usually single-use items, but we sometimes receive disks that repair themselves indefinitely, like HMs do.

[Never enough pink.]

That's right. HMs also tend to teach moves that make travelling easier, while TMs offer a much greater variety of types and effects.
