[Hello Pokéworld, this is one of those new arrivals that isn't all that good with technology and doesn't have much of a clue what he's doing. He's figured out after much trial, error, and near-drops how to record a video. Or at least where the record button is and vaguely what it does.

The video comes on to show his face and what looks like tree branches behind him--he's holding the Gear at nearly arm's length--as well as some pink fluff that is the top of the Igglybuff in his lap's head.]

Hey, this is turned on, right? If anyone's getting this, tell me so I don't have to talk to the local wildlife all evening.

I also wanna know if there's a shortcut to the next town...Cherry-something?...three days is a pain to walk, and it's stupid cold out here.

[He's sitting inside the sleeping bag and also wearing a jacket that was in his backpack, but even combined they're not really good for the weather.]

...And I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to be doing with these...monsters. I read that I'm supposed to battle with them, but I took out the bird with a rock myself and the balloon doesn't do anything but sing and try to nest in my hair. So...they're pretty useless, and I hope I don't die out here because all I have is a balloon and a bird to protect me.

[There's a noise off-screen and he jerks slightly before looking around for the source.]

_{[Gosh, pay attention.]}

I'm from California. You know, in America? I've never heard of Baticul before.

I've never heard of California. Is that in Kimlasca or Malkuth?

_{[Luke's the one being the most difficult here, okay?]}

[This is 100% true.]

Mrngh...this is stupid. How about we just...assume neither of us have been to wherever the other one lives and leave it at that?

_[SHRUG.]

Hey, are you on the way to that Cherry place, too?

[Good, that issue's been solved.]

Um...yeah, I'm about halfway there. You're heading that way too?

[He's looking now to see if he can see her from his tree vantage point.]

_{[She nods.]}

I didn't want to take the boat ... it'd cost a lot of money and I don't have much.

_{[Frowning slightly, she tilts her head.]}

Maybe I could find you.

It is really expensive...

Sure...I'm in a tree right now...do you want to try to find me that way or should I get down?

[Either way, she should look for bright red hair and a blue jacket...or if she takes the first option, the guy camping in a tree.]

_{[... huh]}

Why are you in a tree?

_{[You're weird. But that's okay. She's putting a few things back into her bag as she speaks - it'll be nice to move a bit, anyway. Gets warmer.]}

You should probably get down from there. But you have to stay where you are or it'll be more difficult.

...I thought it'd be safer than on the ground. And warmer.

[Warm air rises, right? He thinks so.

And no you, you're weird.]

Yeah, I'm coming down. I'm turning this thing off, though.

[And he does. He'll keep the Gear open for light, and will hang out at the base of the tree until one of them sees the other.]

_{[Okay, fair enough. Molly's not gonna argue either of those points.]

[After a quick "okay", she picks up her things, shoulders her backpack, lets her Natu settle on her shoulder, and off they go. It takes a fair few minutes of walking, especially with all the snow, but she's thankful to move and have a reason to do it.]

[Not to mention there's a major satisfaction in finding the guy after a while. She hasn't been able to find anything the way she wants to, but she finds him, and she lights up and waves.]}

_{[And goes right up to him.]}

[Oh hello small child. He jumps slightly when he hears her; he's become used to Anise greeting and then attaching herself to him, and Molly's about the same age as Anise is.

He manages a wave as well, less enthusiastic, but just a bit.]

Hey! It's nice to see someone else in person.

[Pause.]

I'm...Luke, by the way.

_{[Don't worry Luke, no attaching for you yet. She stops a polite distance from him, but looks up at him with a curious kind of smile when she nods her agreement, and brings her hands up to coax the bird from her shoulder and into them.]}

I'm Molly. Maybe we should have said that earlier.

Where are your pets?

One is in my bag. [In its ball, Luke isn't sure whether or not to try to open it up and see if the bird is still alive. Schrödinger's Starly.]

And the other one is--

[The Igglybuff chooses that moment to pop out of the sleeping bag Luke had stuck her in so she wouldn't get hurt if she fell, with a loud buu! He goes over to pick her up, holding her out to show Molly.]

_{[She lets out a surprised laugh when the little creature appears like that, especially with the sound it makes.]

[Her bird answers with a little chirp, and Molly holds her up so the two pokémon can greet each other.]}

What is that? That doesn't look like anything!

_{[at least a Natu is obviously a bird.]}

A balloon, I guess. It doesn't look like anything to me, either. Someone else called it an 'igglybuff', so I'm going with...that's what it is.

[Not that that actually answers what it is.

I can tell yours is a bird.

It's a Natu.

_{[Having just properly learnt that, she passes the information on dutifully.]}

I haven't named her yet. Did you name yours?

[Hello Natu, hope you don't mind Luke leaning over to peer at you.]

I've been calling it 'Tear'. I can't really come up with a better name, so that's probably what I'll stick with.

_{[That's a strange name. Molly holds her Natu up for Luke to see, and the Natu shyly chirps in greeting.]}

Tear? Like with crying?

Why?

[Cute bird! Thank you for not trying to peck his face off.]

Yeah, sorta...Tear's the name of a friend of mine. She likes to sing, and so does the Igglybuff, so I thought it fit.

_{[This is a shy but attentive bird who will now carefully get back onto Molly's shoulder and huddle into her neck a bit.]}

Oh, okay. That makes sense.

My bird doesn't really remind me of someone. I guess I'll figure something else out.

_{[She looks up at the nearest tree, squinting.]}

Is that where you were?

Up on the lower branches, yeah. They kinda cross and you can put the sleeping bag between them so it's less uncomfortable. Not much, but whatever.

If you don't roll around a bunch.

[He looks up into the tree, frowning suddenly.]

You have to watch out for owls, too.

_{[Molly has never slept in a tree before but she absolutely takes this advice to heart and nods seriously.]}

They have owls here?
